About This Place

If you're wandering the charming streets of Halifax, Nova Scotia, make sure to pay a visit to Ramblers, a delightful café nestled at 5576 Nora Bernard St. This hidden gem is known for its friendly atmosphere and a vibrant community vibe that welcomes everyone from students to locals reading by the window with their furry companions.

Every visit to Ramblers feels like catching up with an old friend. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, along with the warmth of the decor that leaves you feeling right at home. Their menu is a delightful blend of breakfast favorites, with standout dishes like the lox bagel and breakfast sandwiches that have earned rave reviews. Dan Gutman praised the lox bagel for its freshness, perfectly accompanied by a cup of their superb coffee. Riley Paris goes a step further, calling the scone “AMAZING,” making it clear that Ramblers knows how to elevate simple ingredients to heavenly heights.

Wes Inaba perfectly captures the essence of Ramblers with his description of its cozy, packed atmosphere, perfect for weekend relaxation or bustling morning energy. Regulars often elbow for the best seating, whether they are enjoying the breakie sandwiches or simply diving into deep conversation. And speaking of regulars, many visitors quickly become them, like Nathalie Prézeau, who cherished her morning ritual of savoring blueberry scones, feeling the café’s familiar charm and a sense of belonging.

Lesli Cullen adds a personal touch with her confession about their chocolate chip cookies, claiming they are the best she has ever had. Even her critique of the espresso speaks to the personal character of Ramblers, where everyone finds something to love, or at least enjoy within their preferences. However, despite the occasional chatter and lively crowd, you can still find little corners for peaceful reflection, making it versatile for both social butterflies and quiet thinkers.

In summary, Ramblers is not just a café; it's an experience that envelops you in the rich tapestry of Halifax's community culture. Whether you're stopping in for a quick breakfast, catching up on work, or simply soaking in the lively atmosphere, Ramblers promises a little slice of happiness in every cup and every bite. Don't miss out on the warm hospitality, the delicious scones, and the great cups of coffee that have made this establishment a beloved spot in the city.

Friendly and relaxed coffee shop we had a quick breakfast while our clothes dried at the laundromat next door. Lox bagel was excellent with great coffee too. Try the biscuits with house made jam.

Really yummy cafe probably one of my favourite spots in the city now!! The smoked salmon bagel was good but the scone was AMAZING, one of the best I've had!! Service is super friendly and I love the atmosphere as well (not the best if you want a quiet space tho).

Ramblers is a hole in the wall java stop on Nora Bernard in Halifax. It has a cool cozy vibe and is often packed. They serve up the most amazing breakie sandwiches. And their java is super. It's a must stop on a weekend morning. 5 x

Ramblers, you had me at warm blueberry scones! With great coffee and warm decor as a bonus. I had the chance to stay at my friend’s place around the corner for a week and came every morning you were open to work a bit. It allowed me to see how popular you are. I noticed the regulars: the guy reading a thick book, the other one with his fluffy puppy, the old friends meeting for coffee, the students gathering with their computer… It is worth walking around the café to enjoy the cluster of colourful houses.

Excellent smoked salmon bagel and the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. I do not like their espresso but that is PERSONAL because it is ACIDIC and I am a LADY.

Such a great spot, delicious brunch (chori-queso sandwich was a banger), decadent pastries, great coffee, awesome spot to brunch or work or hang or play dice with a loved one, why not :)

Beautiful little cafe tucked in the north end. Gets packed real quickly, so go early if you want a table. Drinks and breakfast sandwich were delicious. Just another great addition to Halifax's many coffee shops - certainly worth stopping by!

Great cafe! Serves local beans Roastery 46 to which is a bonus. They have the best breakfast sandwiches and pastries! Also provide gluten free options for both their sandwiches as well as their pastries. They can’t promise there is no cross contamination for celiac as it’s a shared kitchen but I’ve gone with my mother who has celiac multiple times and she has never gotten sick (mind you there are different sensitivities). There is lots of seating(inside and out), although the place is usually bumpin so it’s usually full. Also plenty of street parking in this area.
